Umm does BF 2 even accept the program you're using? Sketchup or something? I doubt it accepts it.

no it dont accept it but i can save the 3D model as .3ds like i alwais do and then i can open it with Gmax and bf2 accept .3ds i think

yes it does! this is what i use! but i try not to render too much within sketchup as it can look c***!
just export as a 3ds, but beware the poly count in sketchup is almighty high

If I were you guys, I would just use Gmax or 3DSMax to make all your models, preferably 3DSMax. Side programs like that where you export then import into Gmax, just doesn't sound like the best way to go about doing things for BF2. The high poly count you talk of will not be good at all.

i have played around and the process is fine as long as the faces are correct within sketchup! and its only one export a 3ds file! and it seems to be np at the minute!

Does BF 2 support Maya? My brother is using Maya 6.5, and im not sure if anything he's making can be used at all. If not, oh well. We can always stare at it in rememberance

I agree with Chimera we shouldn't be using side programs like sketchups. Oh well whatever floats your boat I guess.

Yea, from what I have heard, Maya works for BF2, and even if it didn't it can export .obj files to 3DS max. And sketchup also works, and is what Aquila has made great use of, so it definitely makes sense for him to continue making great models however he can.

what do you guys thing of this texture

It's just the same grey looking texture tiled over each of the faces...it really has no detail at all. Model could still use a little bit of work before working on skinning it. Needs way more detail, BF2 can take more poly's than that, so use them!

lol im not that good, just spend ages on them till it at least tries to be good! lol
IMO dont even bother texturing within sketchup! just concentrate on the model in there.
one thing on the model, the shape looks really good but the front where it splits needs to be thicker, just a little bit of scale is out!
and IMO it is fine to use sketchup for models for BF, or any other game. you can do alot within the program (modeling wise) and get to the finest detail!
you will see with our next update!
