A very good idea, i think. All that has to be done is the complete disabling of seeing a red or blue nametage for freinds or enemies, and donning a disguise, fighting along with the imperials for a bit, then sneaking off and blowing up somethign valuable might actually be an occurance in this mod.
a very awesome idea.

That's what I was thinking lol. I guess great minds think alike. We could code that in somehow, I hope. And the Bothan would look like a normal stormtrooper with a sawed-off E-11 Blaster Rifle. The only way to tell that it's Bothan is if you look closely at the E-11 or if you notice some strange behavior like the setting of detonation packs. And with the detonations packs the Bothan could set traps for other Stormtroopers, or blow up vehicles. LMAO! yea I don't think it would be in the game engine. Battlefront had the same idea but it was scraped.

Not in the game engine? It would be easy to make a smaller sized bothan in stormtrooper armor and put him into the game. And of course, we haven't decided exactly how we are going to implement it within the game, but however we decide to do it, I'm sure it is not going to unbalance the game.

That won't work because bf2 only supports 1 skeletal structure so you can't make models different heights.

Well, height could vary slightly, if my limited knowledge of skeletons is correct, but even if we couldn't vary it, the stormtrooper disguise would still work.

Ditto Ram. Regardless of what could be done, it's still a bad idea.

Well, anyways, the plan for now is still to include Bothans with stormtrooper costumes. If, in testing, it doesn't work, we can change it, but by doing it this way for now, it makes modelling easier, as we don't have to model bothans with all of their fur, and it lends itself to some awesome scenarios later.

only way i can see this working is by testing it.. and we are far from it.
bothans wont be in it at first.. we may impliment them later. if we do i cant honestly see how it will function but that would be for later discusion

You don't know if the stormtrooper next to you is a spy or not. And if you make a wrong decision then too bad lol. Plus servers can easily turn off tking.

I've said this countless times. They are the equivalent of Imperial Officers, so please say Bothan Spies and Imperial Officers from now on, instead of just Bothan Spies. They are not super powered like Heroes/Villains or Jedi/Sith would be. They are regular units that are just somewhat different than the other classes, but in no way more powerful, like how Jedi/Sith and Heroes/Villains would be.

Yes, and besides that, the Bothans are already in the loadout, after everything was settled on. I really don't know why this discussion is even taking place, to be honest.
